- The 41 hours requirement may be reduced by taking major requirements that are approved substitutes for the University Core Curriculum courses.
- The supportive skills foreign language requirement may also be met by one of the following: (a) completing three years of one language in high school with a grade of C or better: or (b) earning 8 credit hours of 100-level courses in one language by proficiency examination.
- Biological Sciences majors must have a grade point average of 2.0 or better in these requirements.
- Courses identified as independent research, special problems, readings or seminars may not be used to fulfill this requirement.
- If PLB 360 or MATH 282 or 283 is used as a supportive skills requirement, it may be not used to fulfill the mathematics requirement.
- Substitution of majors courses for University Core Curriculum courses will increase the number of general elective hours.
- Students in the College of Education will take this curriculum for their Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in addition to those courses required for teacher certification. See the College of Education web site for further information.
